July 1

! I celebrate… you bring me rain!

I celebrate the tiny splashes on my toes

mini rivers race from the roof to splash

into our waiting barrels

barrels and buckets lest a drop escape

no thunder did announce

your dropping by…

no announcement

overcast darkness of morning

sky was all I needed…

a celebration loomed

on my event horizon

Rain, rain!

I get giddy as I splish

barefooted on the slippery deck!

My rain dance not required

 but how else to rejoice?

The Mexican lime tree

and Meyer lemons

slurp your offering

eagerly… while

Mimosa blossoms

drift like fuchsia snow.

Poetess, memoir writing, essays about life; these are the things I write about. I also love to cook, so you'll likely find a recipe or two in this blog. I am passionate about Nature and family, so from time to time I will share pictures-with or without poetry.
