I call “do overs”

Yesterday I ventured down the garden path to my backyard garden. Since my poor stability, it is ninety percent on my deck under the now-dead Magnolia tree.Yesterday, I took a careful walk down the winding path of my garden, heading towards the backyard where my little oasis awaits. Given my challenges with balance, I spend most of my time on the spacious deck that sits beneath the once-majestic Magnolia tree, which has sadly seen better days and is now lifeless. The deck, adorned with potted plants and a few scattered cushions, offers a comfortable perch where I can enjoy the beauty of nature without straying too far from solid ground.

It has been sitting under my now-dead beloved Magnolia tree for more years than I can recall.

All things must pass. I’ll miss it but the Magnolia and my departed who planted it even more.

I’m growing old now. I think about those things.

Today, it’s freezing. Next week is expected to be worse.

A fresh stack of dried oak firewood was delivered last weekend. My son will bring some in the yard cart near the back door to make it more manageable for me to build fires.

Something so cozy about the winter when you can stay warm.

As the mercury falls outdoors, I will pull out my seed box and start plants under lights indoors. It never hurts to get a headstart!

No matter how winter evolves, Spring will always come. I’ll be waiting and prepared.
