Was I’ll get a good car and head West. There are places I wanted to visit and people to see.
Yesterday, step one happened. After five years of looking and giving up in frustration, I took the advice of a trusted friend and visited a dealership again.
To my amazement I was scooped up shortly after entering the bright shiny foyer by a fascinating salesman. He, Amin, took me by the arm and steered me through the cubicles to his desk.
After very brief chit chat, I unloaded my car buying journey and how long it was going on. He was amazed my current vehicle was sixteen years old; more amazed at the five years of frustration in car hunting. He said” I’m going to find the perfect car for you!” Amin was a salesman after my heart.
He pulled up the screen on his desk and typed in the details as I talked and we scrolled through the available vehicles.
“Aha!”He smiled.“ I found it!”
He said to relax give him a few minutes and he’d be back. True to his word, in a very little time he came back smiling and tossing a key up in the air. I smiled responding to his mood.
He said to follow him! I did.
Out front, parked in the lot next to my beloved Fusion sat this beautiful, shiny blue-gray SUV. Inside black leather seats and steering wheel, all sewn with red thread. The car was spotless and gleaming. The seats reached up to snuggle me. Amin moved from side to side, adjusting the lumbar spine feature, moonroof, steering column, and cabin air.
Sigh. He proposed I take it out for a spin and keep it all day. They were open until eight. He waved and off I drove. I immediately took the back roads home, admiring how impressive he looked in the driveway.
My heart was pounding. I made it safe and sound.
By late afternoon I had resigned my self to return that beauty and reclaim my comfortable sedan.
My trusted advisor gave me tips in case I felt up to a little car negotiating.
To end this saga, I talked with both Amin and Beau the financial man. I needed more for my beloved treasured sixteen year old car. I wanted price of car lower. I wanted to sleep on it. Amin said take it home, sleep on it and talk to my friend.
I texted my friend.
I asked for Devine Guidance and Approval.
I wished my Daddy was still alive to bounce questions off his brain and wealth of years living.
I slept like a baby.
When I returned in the morning, the price had been lowered and my car was higher. They threw in a generous package of maintenance and extended maintenance as part of the deal.
I drove my shiny car home after a few hours of finance work and moving money and learning how to turn to a preferred radio station.
On day two, I’m planning my trips! I may see some of you this Summer. Me and Blue!
